THE UNIVERSITY of Reading is the fourth best university in the South East, according to the Good University Guide for 2023.
The Sunday Times released its prestigious list on Friday, September 16th, which saw Reading jump four spots from 2022 to enter the top 30 nationally.
The rankings take into account teaching quality, student experience, graduate prospects and completion rate.
The guide showed that 92.3 percent of Reading students completed their courses, while 77.4 percent went on to professional jobs or graduate-level study.
Professor Peter Miskell, University of Reading Pro-Vice-Chancellor for education and student experience, said: “Congratulations to our students and staff, whose hard work, energy and commitment to the university community is reflected in this positive ranking.
“We know that our students appreciate our commitment to high-quality teaching, our provision of support services and the quality of our campus environment. We will continue to prioritise these areas as we seek to continually improve our students’ educational experience.”
In the South East, the University of Oxford secured the top spot, followed by the University of Southampton and the University of Surrey.
Oxford also placed first nationally, a feat it had not managed for 12 years. The institution received global praise for its groundbreaking work on the Covid-19 vaccine.
