A DEPARTMENT store in the town centre hopes to host wine tastings and cocktail making sessions if Reading Borough Council approves its bid for a revised alcohol licence.
John Lewis, also known as Heelas, wants to be able to sell alcohol for consumption on and off the Broad Street premises.
It already has permission sell alcohol from its café, and from the shop floor, but consumption is limited to the restaurant.
The hours in the application are for 8am to 11pm daily.
The application is open to public comments. These can be made by Thursday, September 21, by emailing: licensing@reading.gov.uk. If there are any comments, it will lead to a determination from councillors.
