A FAN-FAVOURITE podcast could be coming to an end this month after three series.
Producers of The 1871 Podcast, which follows the exploits and updates of Reading Football Club, could be hanging up the headphones, have announced that this series could be the last.
The podcast launched in 2022 to mark the 150th anniversary of the football club, and has seen guests such as Steve Coppell, Brian McDermott, Noel Hunt, Phil Parkinson, Graeme Murty, Kevin Doyle, Jem Karacan, Nicky Forster, Shaka Hislop, Martin Hicks, and Lawrie Sanchez.
It’s hosted by Mark Roach, son of former RFC director Brian Roach, and super-fan Jonny Hunt, with irregular appearances from former Royals left-back Dylan Kerr.
To mark the end of its third series, the podcast will see three live events taking place this month.
The first event will see special guest Nicky Shorey, the only Reading player to earn an England Cap, taking part in a live Q&A at the Purple Turtle on Sunday, November 10.
This will be followed up by a Q&A with Adam Le Fondre at the same venue on Sunday, November 17, and Jem Karacan on Sunday, November 24.
All three events begin at 1pm, with doors opening from noon.
