Local running clubs were recognised with awards at the South East Region Volunteer Awards evening.
The awards night was hosted at Thames Valley Athletics Centre, home to Windsor, Slough Eton and Hounslow AC.
Hosted by members of the South East Regional Council, a winner and runner-up were presented awards in nine different categories.
Reading 21 was selected as the winner for the Community Project of the year.
The initiative caters to the local Hong Kong community and Reading and was designed to address mental health issues among new immigrants.
In collaboration with Reading Hong Kong Runners, more than 500 attendees raced at organised events with the programme culminating in the Reading Half Marathon.
Michael and Kieann accepted the award on behalf of Harbour Athletics Club.
Michael said: “In the past two years, 150,000 people moved from Hong Kong to the UK. During the process and stress of relocation people stopped running and we wanted people to restart.”
Reading Joggers took the runners-up prize in the Club of the Year category.
The clubs hosts social runs, schedules training sessions, provides written training plans, organise track nights, couch to 5k, parkrun takeovers and charity events.
Bracknell Athletics Club’s Kate Sillett was selected as runner-up in the Coach of the Year award.
