Reading FC Women have confirmed that first-team manager Pedro Bruno has departed the club.

Bruno took charge at the beginning of the 2024/25 as the team faced a tough rebuilding challenge having dropped down the football pyramid to play in the Southern Region Women’s Premier Division.

Reading Women had previously spent several years in the Women’s Super League, competing against the best clubs in the country before they were relegated in the 2022/23 season.

Following one year in the Women’s Championship, former owner Dai Yongge made the decision to stop funding the women’s team which meant they had to drop down the football pyramid.

Reading FC Women said: “Reading FC Women can confirm the departure of manager Pedro Bruno and assistant, Shelley Strange.

We would like to thank them both for their hard work and dedication during a season filled with challenges and uncertainties.
