READING FC WOMEN will kick off their Championship campaign away at Crystal Palace on Sunday, August 27.

After an eight year stint in the top flight, the Royals dropped out of the top flight after finishing bottom of the Women’s Super League.

After more than two decades with the club, Kelly Chambers departed from her role as first-team manager and director of women’s football.

The club’s owners also made the decision to switch the team to a part-time basis following their relegation.

With a tough task facing them to try and return to the top flight, the Royals are still hunting for a new manager as well as several first-team players.
