READING FC WOMEN continue to build ahead of the new season with two more additions in preparation for the Championship season.
The Royals’ eight year spell in the top flight came to an end after they finished bottom of the Women’s Super League last season.
As a result of relegation, the club’s owners opted to switch the women’s side to a part time basis to make their quest of returning to the top division even more challenging.
With plenty of rebuilding to do, the Royals have so far signed four players in total.
Midfielder Charlie Estcourt was the first acquisition who returns to the club having first departed in 2020.
She graduated from the Royals academy and now returns to the club where she started her football journey.
22-year-old midfielder Ava Kuyken has also joined Reading from Scottish side Hibernian.
She made her name after progressing through Arsenal’s youth ranks before having a spell with Florida Garos which was followed by stints with Bristol City and Hibernian.
Reading have also bolstered their ranks in the goalkeeper department.
Emily Orman joins the Royals on a season long loan from Women’s Super League champions Chelsea.
While, Rose Kite has signed a permanent deal with the club following a successful trial period with the club.
Reading took part in their first pre-season friendly at the weekend away at Portsmouth.
Brooke Hendrix and Madison Perry were both on the scoresheet as the team came away with a 2-2 draw.
