Reading FC transfer target Devante Cole is set to join fellow League One side Port Vale after having his contract at West Brom terminated.
Cole has been a target for several League One clubs this summer, including Reading, after he looked to pursue a move away from Championship West Brom.
The 30-year-old striker has a strong goalscoring record in League One, but had a disappointing campaign with West Brom last season where he failed to score in 14 league appearances.
However, he did manage to net 33 times in 91 League One games for Barnsley.
The Royals fans have been imploring the club to sign a striker all summer, a position they are seemingly short in after losing top scorer Harvey Knibbs and young forward Jayden Wareham.
Reading did manage to add a striker to their squad last week when they signed experienced forward Jack Marriott from Wrexham on a three-year deal on an undisclosed fee.
