Reading FC have completed the signing of a young promising star on a permanent deal from current Premier League champions Liverpool.
17-year-old Scofield Lonmeni featured for Liverpool U18’s during the 2024/25 as a first-year scholar and has predominantly been used as a deep lying central midfielder, but has also been used as a full-back and a winger.
He has played nine times for Liverpool in the U18’s Premier League and has scored one and registered an assist. He has also represented the Reds in the UEFA Youth League and the FA Youth Cup.
Having joined Liverpool at U14s level, he will now represent Reading’s academy with a hope of forging a path through to the first-team.
He made the move to the Royals in October and has already represented Harrison Gilkes’ side, including an appearance in a 7-6 penalty shoutout win over Middlesbrough in the FA Youth Cup.
