READING FC have sealed a deal for experienced centre-back Harlee Dean on a free transfer.

The 32-year-old will join Ruben Selles’ squad after completing a trial period with the club.

Born in Basingstoke, Dean has accrued 313 Championship appearances throughout his career and was a mainstay at the heart of Brentford’s and most recently Blues’ defences for a decade.

The defender was voted Birmingham’s Supporters’ Player of the Year and Players’ Player of the Year for the 2020–21 season.

Dean appeared 16 times in City’s most recent campaign, scoring one goal.

Reading have made a total of six new signings this summer with the additions of Harvey Knibbs, Sam Smith, Charlie Savage, Lewis Wing and Tivonge Rushesha.
