Reading FC have revealed their ninth signing of the summer transfer window with the addition of midfielder Kamari Doyle.
The 20-year-old joins on a one-year loan deal from Premier League side Brighton & Hove Albion.
Doyle began his career at Southampton, making his senior debut at just 16 years old in an EFL Trophy fixture against Charlton Athletic in October 2021. He signed his first professional contract on his 17th birthday and played a key role in Southampton’s youth success — lifting the Under-18 Premier League South title in 2021–22 and Premier League 2 Division 2 in 2022–23, as well as helping the club reach the semi-finals of the FA Youth Cup.
First Team Manager Noel Hunt said: “There was a lot of interest in Kamari from other clubs at our level, which shows how highly he’s rated. We’re really pleased to have secured his services. He’s a technically gifted player with great vision and bravery on the ball.
“Kamari has already shown he can perform at this level with two strong loan spells. He brings creativity, energy, and goal threat to our midfield.
“We’ve done our homework, spoken to those who know him well, and the feedback has been fantastic — he’s a determined, focused young player who wants to improve and contribute. We’re excited to work with him and help him continue his development here at Reading.”
