Reading FC have missed out on summer transfer target Chem Campbell after it was announced that the winger has joined fellow League One side Stevenage.
Noel Hunt was keen on bringing the player back to the club following his loan spell from Wolves last season, however he has now joined Stevenage on a permanent deal.
Campbell spent last season on loan with Reading as the club missed out on the play-offs on the final day of the season.
He had a slow start to his time with the club, but eventually found consistency and managed to contribute five goals and two assists in 39 League One appearances in the 2024/25 campaign.
However, he will now play against the Royals in the upcoming campaign.
Stevenage finished in 14th place in League One last season.
