Reading FC forward Kelvin Ehibhatiomhan featured for the Royals in a friendly against Tottenham Hotspur despite his future at the club remaining unresolved.
Ehibhatiomhan’s contract with Reading expired last month and despite being offered new terms by the club, his extension has yet to be confirmed by the club.
Manager Noel Hunt admitted last weekend that the player and his agent had been given until the end of the weekend to come to a decision on whether he would sign a contract extension or move to a new club. However, nothing has been confirmed by the club with his future still up in the air.
The 22-year-old has remained training with the first-team throughout pre-season, attended the short trip to Ireland and started the game against Spurs on Saturday.
Speaking after the game, manager Hunt admitted that he expects Ehibhatiomhan to stay and that a deal has been verbally agreed, although the forward it yet to officially put pen to paper on a new deal.
The Royals hosted Tottenham at the Select Car Leasing Stadium in front of a sold out crowd in a match that ended 2-0 to the visitors.
Ehibhatiomhan has played a total of 92 first-team matches for Reading in all competitions and has scored 17 times.
