Reading FC are reportedly plotting a move to bring former player Garath McCleary back to the club before the summer transfer window closes.
Reading manager Noel Hunt is still keen for the club to add to their attack before the window shuts on Monday night and one of the options they are exploring is a move for the 38-year-old winger.
The Royals added striker Jack Marriott to their attack after he joined from Wrexham, signing a three-year deal with Reading.
According to Bucks Free Press, Reading are considering making a move to sign their former player from Wycombe Wanderers.
McCleary originally joined Reading back in 2012 following the club’s promotion to the Premier League.
He played a total eight seasons with the Royals and netted 27 times in 270 games before his stint with the club ended on a sour note after he was one of several first-team players who were frozen out as the club looked to move them on to try and reduce their wage bill.
After leaving Reading, McCleary joined Wycombe in 2020 and has made 182 appearances for the Chairboys and has scored 30 times.
