Reading FC have completed the signing of forward Jack Marriott from Championship side Wrexham for an undisclosed fee.
The Royals fans have been crying out for a striker all summer and their cries have finally been answered with the addition of the 30-year-old, who joins from Wrexham on a three-year deal.
Reading have had a tough start to their League One season and have collected just two points from their opening five games.
However, they will be hoping that Marriott gives them some much needed firepower in attack.
Marriott has huge experience in the EFL and has netted 61 goals in 140 League One appearances and scored five times for Wrexham last season as they sealed promotion to the Championship.
Reading manager Noel Hunt said: “Jack is a fantastic addition to our group. He knows this division inside out, he’s got a real eye for goal, and he brings experience that will really help our younger players as well.
“Having been part of a promotion-winning side last season, he also knows what it takes to succeed. We’re excited to get him into the squad and I’m sure our fans will enjoy watching him in a Reading shirt.”
Marriott will wear the number 7 shirt for Reading.
