Reading Football Club have confirmed that a coach has departed the club after they announced Leam Richardson as the team’s new manager.
Scott Marshall, who was assistant manager under Noel Hunt, has now also left the club.
Marshall was previously U23s coach at Reading from 2017-2020.
After Nigel Gibbs left as Hunt’s assistant in the summer, Marshall returned to the club as part of Hunt’s staff.
However, his second stint at the club was short lived and he has now departed.
A statement from Reading said: “Scott returned to the Royals in the summer ahead of the 2025/26 campaign, reuniting with the club for a second spell having previously led our Under-23s between 2017 and 2020 and briefly served as caretaker manager in 2018.
“A highly respected coach and popular figure at Bearwood Park, he has worked with professionalism and total commitment throughout his time back at the club.
“Scott departs as part of changes to the club’s first team coaching structure under Leam Richardson.
“Everyone at Reading Football Club would like to thank Scott for his dedication and support during his time here. He leaves with our very best wishes for the future.”
