Reading FC boss Ruben Selles admitted that he had new information regarding a potential takeover of the club.
The Royals picked up three vital points as they put four past Cambridge United without reply to improve their League One survival hopes.
It was reported yesterday evening that the club is in advanced negotiations over a sale of the club.
“I think you know it better than me, I’m serious,” said Selles when questioned about a potential takeover.
“Nothing indicates that it’s going to be any different but hopefully it is something different.
“Realistically, I don’t know. Until things are done, I’m not a believer so I just believe what is in front of me and that is a victory today, a couple of days off and then on Tuesday I will see if something has changed.”
Selles was full of praise for his side who are now seven points clear of the League One relegation zone.
He continued: “It was a very good performance today. One of the best we can call it, but I think we can do it even better so let’s keep pushing to get better.
“The boys are working really, really hard to get that performance to get those goals.
“I think the way they have been focused on the task is excellent.
“It’s very difficult to find a group of players that want to compete for each other in that way so I’m very proud of what they did today.
“We were ruthless in the final third. We were ruthless in the things that we did and I would like to see that more.”
Selles also paid tribute to the Reading fans for their continued support.
He said: “I think it’s always the connection has been there and lately has been more strong.
“I think they (the fans) like the way they attack, the way that they run, the way they play together, the way they block shots and the boys like to be with the crowd.
