MATES Rates has announced who will be taking to the stage for the much-anticipated return of Reading Indie Comedy Festival next year.
Last year’s inaugural event saw heavyweight hawkers of humour and amateur raconteurs alike come together for three days of mirth in venues across town, including Sara Barron, Emmanuel Sonubi, and Paul Foot.
While Gary Delaney has already been confirmed as a headliner, coming to Double Barrelled Brewery, this year will see Harriet Kemsley take to the stage at The Outlook alongside Rhodri Buttrick and Darren Harriott.
Andy Gleeks, Michael Odewale, Matt Bragg, Charlie George, Roman Harris, Josh Baulf, Kathryn Mather, Geoff Steel, Luke Chiltern, Alex Kitson, and Dan Collins will round out the rest of the stand-up bill.
Alongside the individual performers, The Sunday Roast by Roast Battle UK is set to return to Milk Bar, with performers setting their sights on one another for snipes and jibes.
Also returning is the New Comedian of the Year competition, where eight eager amateurs compete for a paid spot in Mates Rates’ comedy calendar and a cash prize.
Whats The Game Improv will see Mad Monkey Improv and What’s The Game team up for an improvisational showcase at The Purple Turtle too, hosted by Alexander McWilliam and Seamus Allen.
Reading Indie Comedy Festival returns from Friday-Sunday, May 17-19.
