A SPORT centre in Reading is set to host a national climbing event with guest speakers and competitions next month.
The Climbing Hanger, Stadium Way, is one of five venues which will be hosting Kendal Mountain Masters when it goes on tour in January.
The event sees newcomers and lifelong climbers alike taking part in climbing competitions and question and answer sessions, demonstrations, and talks with elite climbers.
Competition climber Caroline Ciavaldini and James Pearson will both make guest appearances and share expertise.
The event celebrates climbing and the climbing community, sponsored by The North Face and Ellis Brigham, with support from La Sportiva.
Attendees will get the chance to compete for prizes in a number of categories, see fellow athletes compete, and network with other climbers.
There is also a film night following the climbing events, with food served.
The 2024 tour stops off in Plymouth on Saturday, January 13, before coming to Reading on Saturday, January 20.
It then moves on to London, Liverpool, and finally Sheffield in February.
Kendal Mountain Masters comes to The Climbing Hangar, Stadium Way, from 3pm on Saturday, January 20.
