A CARE home in Caversham was full of Christmas cheer when it hosted a festive fayre earlier this month.

The new Signature development said they wanted to hold an event that embodied the spirit of community, and featured an array of local business stall holders.

It included a visit from Father and Mother Christmas, courtesy of Reading Lions Club. They set up residence in the site’s cinema, which was transformed into a grotto. Children from the nearby Orchard Nursery were able to visit and receive an early gift.

It wasn’t all about receiving: toys and food were donated to the Lions’ festive appeals aimed at helping Reading’s less fortunate.

The event ended with a Christmas light switch-on.

Laura Hulett, general manager at Signature at Caversham, said: “We have well and truly embraced the true essence of the season with this Christmas Fayre that radiated joy and community spirit.

“A heartfelt thank you to our wonderful client liaison manager, Karen, for all her work organising the event, and to the many local businesses whose generous contributions to the toy drive and food bank collection have beautifully exemplified the true spirit of Christmas.

“As we illuminated our home with the radiant Christmas light switch-on, we felt the warmth of togetherness, embodying the magic of the season.”
