READING Buses has announced a new member on their Board of Directors as Tom Ranson takes the role of Engineering Director.
Mr Ranson has been Head of Engineering at Reading Buses for nearly five years and his promotion comes after a period leading the company’s engineering function to better results “across all metrics.”
He will be tasked with helping to lead the company forward and continue its work to remain at the forefront of technological advancement.
The company say it is “another successful promotion” as a result of working to facilitate its employees to succeed.
The company says that it is a continuation of its focus on being people-led, and follows the newly re-titling of Head of People and Culture, Sharon Klue–previously known as HR.
Ms Klue forms part of the senior leadership team seeking to maintain a positive, engaging and productive work environment, while looking for opportunities for training and development across all functions at Reading Buses and their two sister companies, Thames Valley Buses and Newbury & District.
Robert Williams, Reading Buses Chief Executive Officer, said of the appointment: “We are delighted to announce Tom’s promotion and his place on our Board of Directors following the recent retirement of our HR Director, Caroline Anscombe.
“Tom’s primary role in leading the engineering function across our three companies will continue as before, whilst also now helping to lead the future strategy of the company at a time of great technological change.”
“I am confident that these arrangements will keep us in a good position for a bright future.”
