READING Buses is seeing in 2024 with a shake-up to its timetables.
Several routes will be affected by the changes which come into force on Tuesday, January 2 – the first day of a normal service after the Christmas holidays.
The company says the changes are aimed at improving reliability.
However, there are two route changes.
Route 9 will be rebranded to buzz 9 and extended from Whitley Wood to Reading Green Park station via Imperial Way.
The new buzz 9 will run hourly Monday to Friday as well as now running on Saturdays too. New buzz branded buses will run on the route.
The London Line 702 will now operate as The London Line 701 for the early and late journeys that start and end in Central Reading and as the London Line 702 for all other journeys between Legoland and Central London.
Connections are guaranteed and passengers will be able to stay on the bus when travelling on both routes.
Some bus stops will be renamed. On lion X4, John Nike Ski Centre will be renamed John Nike Way, on lion 4/X4 the Cain Road Dell and Fujitsu stops will be renamed The Boulevard and on the London Line 702 / Flightline 703, Windsor WH Smiths will be renamed Windsor Castle Hill.
