A POPULAR family-friendly rave is to expand its operations in Reading.
Tots Events Ltd organised Raver Tots in Prospect Park. The event is a mixture of music, dancing, activities and food, all suitable for younger people as well as their parents, and sees big name DJs entertain little ones.
Line-ups have included Artful Dodger, Benny Page and DJ Matt Jam Lamont.
The event has been so successful that the team are looking to expand its activities to cover a whole weekend in July.
This includes an Ibiza-themed dance festival on the Friday, a 90s pop music festival on the Saturday, and a Raver Tots event on the Sunday.
In a TV interview, organiser Mike Pickets said: “It’s bringing back that ethos of the rave scene, of togetherness, of unity, built on the foundation of the rave scene which is young people.”
Reading Borough Council has received a licensing application from Tots Events, which would see it have permission to provide regulated entertainment and sell alcohol from 3pm to 10pm on the Friday, noon to 10pm on the Saturday and 11.30am to 7pm on the Sunday.
