Daisy’s Dream is a local lifeline charity that supports children and families who are facing the loss of a loved one, normally a parent or sibling.
They have been put forward for the Charity of the Year award sponsored by Roc Search.
Their nominator said: “Running my local beauty business I have seen first-hand how they have helped families.
“Recently they have been helping a 36-year-old lady that is terminally Ill with three young children.
“I met a lady last week that was helped by them over 30 years ago when she suddenly lost her husband and was left with two young boys. Another friend was helped when she lost her husband and was left with four young girls, one under one,” they added.
“It’s so important that we spread the word about this charity as you never know… anyone of us could need to call them for their help.”
They constantly hold charity events around Berkshire to raise much-needed funds, said the nominator.
They depend mostly on fundraising and have no government help or funding. Statistics show that one child in every class in the UK is suffering from the loss of a parent.
“Daisy’s Dream helps them through their darkest times with workshops and counselling,” they said.
