Volunteers of the Year, Time to Heal Directory, sponsor AB Walker
The “dedicated” team at Time to Heal Directory has been nominated as Volunteers of the Year “for their outstanding efforts and unwavering commitment to supporting young people and disadvantaged families in Reading.”
Their nominator said: “ Over the past two years, they have tirelessly pursued funding opportunities to provide crucial mental health services, often facing numerous obstacles and rejections.
“Despite these challenges, their perseverance paid off when they were awarded a £10,000 grant from the National Lottery.
“Operating on a purely voluntary basis, this team has demonstrated remarkable dedication and resilience,” they said.
Their mission is to tackle the pressing issue of long waiting lists for therapy in Reading by offering free counselling, coaching, and mentoring.
Understanding the profound impact mental health support can have on young lives, they are determined to make these services accessible to those who need them the most.
“Time to Heal Directory has ambitious plans to build partnerships with local corporate businesses to further their mission. Their vision is not only to continue providing essential services but also to expand their reach, ensuring that no young person or family in need is left without support.
“Their commitment to community wellbeing, their ability to secure funding against all odds, and their plans for sustainable growth make Time to Heal Directory truly deserving of this nomination,” they said.
“They exemplify the spirit of stepping up when needed, and their work will make a significant difference in the lives of many.”
The Volunteers of the Year award is sponsored by funeral director AB Walker.
