A business where the boss has made a point of employing young disabled people has been nominated for Business In Action under 50 employees sponsored by Boyes Turner.
The nominator said of Ashleigh Wells who run IT solutions firm VisiMedia: “Ash has consistently chosen to employ young disabled adults to build his business.
“On many occasions where he could have opted to a more experienced colleague, he has opted to onboard a young individual with incredible desire.”
Benjamin Lewis, an autistic adult, joined VisiMedia in 2020 and has thrived as a technical consultant since then, they said.
“Under Ash’s guidance a number of autistic adults have been able to show their true talents,” they added.
The team at VisiMedia, based in Paddock Road Industrial Estate in Reading, recently worked on a package of solutions supporting the creation of the first newly-created UK-based shipping line in more than 40 years.
