Putting Reading on the Map, Paul Britt, sponsors Jacobs the Jewellers and The Purple Turtle
A man has been praised for his leadership and commitment which has helped make Reading Pride the town’s second largest festival, and largest free festival.
Paul Britt, chair of Reading Pride, which was formed in 2003 to represent and support the local LGBT+ community, has been nominated for the Putting Reading on the Map award.
His nominator said: “Paul has been involved with Reading Pride since it was founded, and has been a trustee for most of those years and chair since 2015.
He will be stepping away at the end of his term.
“His impact in Reading Pride’s growth has been significant, although it is a collective effort.”
He said his “leadership, commitment, knowledge and support through all these years helped Reading Pride to become Reading’s second largest festival and the largest free to attend festival.”
He added Paul had brought a new sense of direction which with others “brought in the Love Unites theme that now defines the festival,” which this year will be on Saturday, August 31.
He added Paul should also be considered for the Community Champion award too.
The Putting Reading on the Map award recognises a group, business or individual who by their commitment and dedication, will have raised the profile of our fantastic town in a positive and influential light regionally, nationally or internationally.
It is sponsored by Jacobs the Jewellers and The Purple Turtle.
