A security worker at Broad Street Mall as been put forward for the Employee of the Year award, sponsored by Reading Buses.
Barry Smith’s nominator said: “I work in a small store in the mall. We don’t always need attention but, when we do, Barry is always there.
“He’s there on the clock but always out of of time too. We feel safe when he’s there. Barry makes us feel like we can do our job as there’s someone like him looking after us.
“He definitely needs recognition.”
