Police officers in Reading have taken to public transport as part of a campaign encouraging people to report sexual offences while travelling.
Officers from the Reading East Neighbourhood Policing Team spent time on the number 17 bus supporting the Thames Valley Police “It Does Matter” campaign.
During the initiative, officers spoke with passengers about how to report sexual offences on public transport and reassured them that all reports are taken seriously.
Police also handed out personal attack alarms to passengers, which they said were well received by members of the community.
The force said the campaign aims to raise awareness and encourage people to report incidents, helping officers better understand and tackle offences on public transport.
Officers added that they remain committed to keeping people safe while travelling.
