THAMES Valley Police has confirmed that a body was found in the Thames earlier today, May 28.
Officers searching for Simeon found a body in the river near Caversham Bridge who they believe to be the missing man.
Though formal identification has not yet taken place, the family of the missing man has been informed and is being supported by officers.
While the death is currently being treated as unexplained it is not currently thought to be suspicious.
A file is being prepared for the coroner.
Officers from Thames Valley Police were in attendance at an incident at Caversham Bridge in Reading.
Traffic is currently being urged to use Reading Bridge whilst the incident is ongoing.
Our reporter on the scene noted a small police presence, with what appears to be a diving crew and apparatus support parked close to the bridge.
Crews were also seen preparing a boat on the Reading side of the bridge.
Traffic in the area has returned to normal.
