THAMES Valley Police is currently attending an incident in central Reading and has asked members of the public to stay away while they attend.
TVP posted to social media at around 7.30pm on Monday, March 20, to say that they are currently dealing with an incident in Vastern Road where it was dealing with a “fear for welfare” incident involving a man.
Police have asked that the public stay away from the area while they deal with the ongoing incident and have thanked them for their patience.
Vastern Road was closed in both directions shortly before 7pm, with Reading Buses posting to social media to say that the Northern Interchange would be avoided while it was closed.
The full post from Thames Valley Police reads: “We are at the scene of a fear for welfare incident involving a man in Vastern Road, Reading.
“We’re working to resolve things as quickly as possible, but people are advised to avoid the area while this is ongoing.
“Thanks to everyone for their patience at this time.”
