THAMES Valley Police is appealing for a specific witness after an incident of sexual assault in Reading.
It follows an incident which took place at around 1.05am on Sunday, November 12, when a woman was waiting at the bus stop in St Mary’s Butts, near Hosier Street.
As she stood to get on the bus, she was approached from behind by a man and touched around the waist.
The man attempted to approach her again when she turned around, but she fled and reported the incident to officers.
A man from Reading has been arrested on suspicion of sexual assault and released on bail.
nvestigating officer, PC Dale Halford based at Reading police station, said: “We are investigating this concerning incident and have made an arrest in connection with it.
“We are appealing for a specific witness to come forward who we believe the offender was being aggressive to before the sexual assault.
“The witness is described as a white British man wearing a red beanie hat, a navy body warmer jacket and jeans.
“We would ask this witness or anyone else who may have information in connection with this incident to please come forward.
