THAMES Valley Police is appealing for witnesses following a road traffic collision involving two emergency vehicles on Monday, August 7.
At around 6.30pm, an ambulance and a police vehicle, both travelling on blue lights, collided on Southampton Street, at the junction with Pell Street and Crown Street.
Photographs posted on social media showed a marked, five-door Skoda hatchback ambulance with damage to the front of the vehicle and an upturned police van.
The two police officers in the marked Vauxhall Vivaro and the driver of the Skoda ambulance sustained minor injuries, with all three taken for treatment at the Royal Berkshire Hospital.
They remain in hospital at time of print.
Police are now seeking witnesses and those who may have footage of the collision to come forward to assist with enquiries into the incident.
Investigating officer Sergeant Chris Howlett of the Joint Operations Roads Policing Unit, based at Three Mile Cross, said: “I am appealing to anybody who witnessed this collision to please get in touch with Thames Valley Police on 101, quoting reference number 43230351708.

A spokesperson for South Central Ambulance Service said: “Following a collision last night involving a SCAS crew and a Thames Valley Police van on their way to different emergencies, three people involved were taken to hospital where they have been treated for minor injuries.
