THAMES Valley Police is appealing for witnesses following a string of robberies in Reading.
A series of incidents took place around the Queens Road and Reading Bridge areas of Caversham between 11.30pm on Sunday, June 30, and 12.30am on Monday, July 1.
The first victim, a man in his 30s, was approached by a man while walking on the towpath near Hills Meadow car park.
The victim was asked to take his clothes off and hand over his phone and wallet, but was threatened with a knife when he refused.
The victim complied, handing over their clothes and belongings to the offender, who then chased the victim for a short while.
Shortly after, two further victims, a man and a woman in their thirties, were robbed by a man of a similar description in a similar way while walking along the towpath near Queens Road.
A twenty year old man has been arrested on suspicion of robbery and assault in relation to this incident and remains in police custody.
Detective Sergeant Thomas Wheatman, who is based at Reading police station, said: “The incidents last night are believed to be isolated and we are not currently looking for any other persons.
“We do however believe there are further unidentified witnesses to the incidents we are keen to speak with.
