They were rehearsing for the panto:
Ali Baba and the Forty Thieves,
Some of them were on the thick side,
Well especially … that bloke Steve.
He did not have a Scooby-Doo,
Thought they were doing Peter Pan,
Which almost explains the thinking
Behind his rather impetuous plan …
He’d set his heart on the part of Hook,
I’d say … he’d had more than one beer,
But once it’s healed, there’s a good chance
The stump will come in handy next year.
Please do not be trying this at home,
There’s health and safety to consider,
And anything beyond a light graze
Will have your mother in a dither.
In fact please stick to the traditional:
“He’s behind you!” and all that jazz,
Yes we know it’s a load of nonsense,
But that’s panto … pure razzmatazz!
