It was a lacklustre display from the Royals that saw them go down to defeat to West Bromwich Albion.

Reading failed to register a shot on target in a match that saw them slip to defeat in their final home game of the season.

ORJAN NYLAND 6: Wasn’t kept too busy throughout the game, but stayed alert to tip an awkward cross over the bar from Phillips and couldn’t have done anything with the goal.

TERELL THOMAS 6: Made his debut playing at right-back rather than his natural role at centre-back, A fairly bright performance, got forward well. Withdrawn for Abrefa after getting a knock.

MICHAEL MORRISON 5: Didn’t have too much to do especially in the first-half. Made a vital tackle on Phillips in the first-half but soft centre led to the winner.

TOM MCINTYRE 5: Put his head on the line to make an important block in the first-half but was breezed past by Grant for the winner.

BABA RAHMAN 5: A fairly comfortable performance defensively, but didn’t get forward often enough to create in attack.

TOM DELE-BASHIRU 5: Struggles to get on the ball and create when played in a deeper position where he was used again in the absence of Rinomhota.

DANNY DRINKWATER 4: Has been really good in recent weeks but wasn’t at that level today. Gave the ball away cheaply which led to the goal.

JOSH LAURENT 6: Lively all game, popped up all over the pitch. Was involved in driving the team forward but his passing was really sloppy at times.

OVIE EJAIRA 3: Couldn’t provide any kind of creative spark to help Reading try and break West Brom down. A far cry from his displays from the previous campaign.

JUNIOR HOILETT 5: Looked bright during the first-half, put in some nice deliveries from the right and some inviting set-pieces.

LUCAS JOAO 3: In fairness he didn’t get any service at all, but he didn’t do anything to help create for his teammates and didn’t make enough runs.
