Rachel Rowe scored a dramatic stoppage time double as Reading FC Women snatched a last gasp victory against Leicester City.

In a six pointer between the two bottom clubs in the Women’s Super League heading into the game, it was the Royals who ensured they found their first points of the season.

Natasha Flint’s first half goal had the Foxes in front up until the 90th minute as Rowe hit the net directly from a corner.

Rowe then scored an exceptional winner just two minutes later to give Reading their first league win in 14 matches.

JACKIE BURNS 6: Couldn’t have done anything with the goal with was a superb strike into the corner. Dealt comfortably when called upon and rushed off her line well to stop a few through balls.

EMMA MUKANDI 6: Not the finest defensive display but got forward well in the closing minutes of the game and produced a pinpoint cross which Wellings almost converted.

GEMMA EVANS 6: Put in some strong blocks when tested at the back, but will be disappointed with the manner in which Reading conceded.

DIANE CALDWELL 6: Slow to react to Leicester’s goal as they charged through the middle but had a relatively good performance overall.

FAYE BRYSON 5: Put in some nice crosses, but struggled with Leicester quick counters. Picked up a booking and was subbed off after 65 minutes.

JUSTINE VANHAEVERMAET 7: Showed her strength in the middle to win the ball back on numerous occasions. Went close with a looping effort in the first-half. Subbed off in the 65th minute for Tia Primmer.

LILY WOODHAM 7: Got forward well on the left and provided an outlet down the wing. Had a chance to score when she was played in by Eikeland but hesitated in the box.

RACHEL ROWE 9: The hero of the hour. Scored directly from a corner in the 90th minute and scored a sublime winner in stoppage time to give the team a much needed win.

CHARLIE WELLINGS 6: Spurned a golden chance to level the score late in the game when she couldn’t direct her header on target from Mukandi’s cross.

AMALIE EIKELAND 7: Provided plenty of running and was positive on the ball. Unselfish in front of goal on a few occasions but may have looked to pull the trigger in hindsight.

NATASHA DOWIE 6: Popped up in some nice positions in the box but couldn’t apply a finishing touch as the ball didn’t quite drop for her. Subbed off late on.
