READING FC climbed off the bottom of the League One table by thrashing Carlisle United.

The Royals backed up their away win at Wycombe on Saturday by putting three more points on the board with a convincing display.

An own goal, a Harvey Knibbs double and late goals from Lewis Wing and Femi Azeez helped Ruben Selles’ side earn a confidence boosting 5-1 victory.

DAVID BUTTON 6: Super stop early in the second-half to keep out Plange as the Royals made a shaky start after the restart.

ANDY YIADOM 6: Helped out in both defence and attack to help keep the visitors realtively quiet. Has hit a patch of good form.

TYLER BINDON 6: Wasn’t tested too often but stood up to the test and brought the ball out the back confidently.

NELSON ABBEY 6: Relatively comfortable for most of the evening. A few sloppy passes but also showed confidence brining the ball out from the back.

JERIEL DORSETT 7 : Created the first goal of the night as his cross into the near post was turned in for an own goal by Carlise captain Samuel Lavelle. Made a vital block on the line early in the second-half.

MICHAEL CRAIG 7: Went about his business quietly and confidently. Broke up play when needed and kept the team ticking over.

LEWIS WING 8: Scored the goal of the night with a stunning strike to make it 4-1. Strong tackle in the middle to win the ball before he fed Knibbs to make it 3-1.

FEMI AZEEZ 7.5: Finally broke his scoring drought. Missed a massive chance to score the opener, but managed to make some positive contributions in the final third by setting up Knibbs’ first goal and firing in a few really dangerous crosses.

HARVEY KNIBBS 8.5 : Revitalised by his role playing in the middle. Right place, right time to bundle in his first goal and showed good composure to twist and turn before wrong footing the keeper to score his second

PAUL MUKAIRU 6.5: Showed good energy down the left which was showcased when he hunted the ball down in tandem with Knibbs which eventually led to Reading’s third goal

SAM SMITH 6.5: Wasn’t able to add to his scoring tally but worked hard for the team, made positive runs all night and held the ball well.
