Reading FC took another vital step towards League One safety by taking all three points against Northampton Town.

Kelvin Ehibhatiomhan netted the only goal of the game with a super curling strike to separate the sides.

The Royals rise up to 17th in the table with six matches left to play and face an away trip to Bolton Wanderers on Monday.

JOEL PEREIRA 8: His third successive start. Made a super save to get his side out of trouble when Appere found himself one-on-one. A well earned clean sheet.

JERIEL DORSETT 6: Some sloppy passing at times, but a relatively solid game for the left-back who was taken off for Kelvin Abrefa with 15 mins to go.

TYLER BINDON 8: Composed as ever, always calm and measured on the ball and defended his box strongly. Another eye catching display from the young centre-back
