Reading FC have a tough task ahead of them to try and keep their spot in the top fix when they host league leaders Lincoln City on Easter Monday.
The Royals suffered late heartbreak at Huddersfield when the hosts scored with virtually the final kick of the game to draw the match.
Leam Richardson’s remain in the play-off places but lead 7th placed Stevenage by just a point and they have two games in hand.
Reading go into the game with some more positive injury news after Kamari Doyle, who was expected to miss the Huddersfield game, made a quick return from a knock and was available while Daniel Kyerewaa has also returned from his injury lay off.
However, Reading will be without defender Benn Ward and midfielder Randell Williams for the rest of the season.
Meanwhile, top scorer Jack Marriott is still recovering from a hamstring injury with no immediate return date in sight.
Monday’s opponents extended their lead at the summit to 10 points on Friday when they scored late to defeat AFC Wimbledon.
Lincoln have enjoyed a tremendous campaign and have lost just five times in 40 games.
They also boast both the best attack and defence in the entire division. They have scored 75 goals and have conceded just 34.
Reading faced Lincoln away from home on the opening day of the 2025/26 season and were beaten 2-0.
