CYCLISTS have generated over a million pounds for local charities since 1983 in an event that takes them through miles of Berkshire countryside.
The Three Counties Cycle Ride gives riders an opportunity to fundraise for their own favourite good cause, while proceeds from the event are donated to the Thames Valley Air Ambulance team.
A variety of routes are available for the young and the not-so-young.
Riders can choose from a 15, 34 or 52-mile ride.
All three routes are well-signed, with friendly marshals and drink stations on the longer routes, which dip into Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire.
And Charlie’s Angels will cycle all three routes to help and encourage riders along the way.
After the ride cyclists can drop in to Bond Square next to the Lexicon to enjoy the Bracknell Cycle Festival, open on the day from 11am until 4pm.
Organised by Avanti Cycling in co-operation with Trek Bracknell and Bracknell Forest Council, the Festival offers BMX stunt displays, cycling skills around an obstacle course, and a short, guided cycle ride for children through some of Bracknell’s parks, led by KidicalMass.
Hot dogs, refreshments and beer will be available to buy.
The Three Counties Cycle Ride will start and finish at Garth Hill College, Bracknell, on Sunday, June 7.
Riders will leave the college between 8am and 9.30am, with registration available from 7.30am onwards.
The event will close by 4.30pm.
Parking is at the college, or in Bracknell town (Sunday parking is not free).
