IT WAS three in one for Pangbourne Rotary Club as the group made a bumper crop of donations.
The voluntary fundraising group visited representatives from three Reading-area charities so they could be presented with £1,000 each.
The first donation went to CIRDIC (Churches in Reading Drop In Centre), a stepping stone in its Just Giving campaign to raise £52,000 to keep going in the next few months.
Mal Sandham (Community Service Leader) and Brian Davies (President) met Mabel Boyd Gregory (Manager) and her volunteers, who provide meals and support to those in need.
They also made a presentation to Launchpad, which works with the town’s vulnerable to help them with housing and issues relating to homelessness.
Here Mal and Brian are pictured with Sian from Launchpad.
And the third charity helped was West Berkshire Homeless, run entirely by volunteers who provide accommodation and advice for the homeless and those in need.
Erica Gassor, a trustee and frontline befriender, is pictured with Mal. She explained they have 211 active clients and in January alone spent over £6,000 in support and accommodation.
Pangbourne Rotary president Brian Davies said poverty is one of his charity themes this year and it was wonderful to help such deserving charities as these.
The group’s next fund-raising event is the Pangbourne Art Exhibition over the weekend of April 19-21, in Pangbourne Village Hall.
