A CLASSIC children’s character is coming to Reading to celebrate World Book Day next month.

Paddington the bear is set to visit the Broad Street Mall, where he will be meeting attendees in March.

There is also a free Paddington-themed craft workshop in the central square, as well as a series of book bundle competitions on social media to celebrate the event.

Steven Connolly, Centre Manager at Broad Street Mall says, ‘We are thrilled that Paddington will be making a visit to the centre to help us celebrate World Book Day.

“I am sure that families will be super excited to meet the marmalade-loving bear, and then enjoying some Paddington crafting whilst they are here.”

Paddington comes to Broad Street Mall from 11am-3.30pm on Saturday, March 9.
