POLICE are appealing for witnesses following an incident of assault, attempted grievous bodily harm, and shoplifting in central Reading.
It follows reports of two people who were injured just before 5.30pm at The Orace in the town centre.
Emergency services were seen attending to a victim at the top of a staircase in the shopping mall, with some witnesses reporting seeing blood at the scene–however Thames Valley Police is yet to confirm details about the victim or victims.
One man, a 19-year-old from Newbury, has been arrested on suspicion of attempted grievous bodily harm, threats with a bladed article in a public place, shoplifting, and assault.
A Thames Valley Police spokesperson said: “At around 5.28pm on Wednesday, December 9, we were called to an assault with injury in The Oracle, Reading.
“A 19-year-old man from Newbury has been arrested on suspicion of attempted grievous bodily harm, threats with a bladed article in a public place, shoplifting and assault.
