POLICE are appealing for witnesses to an incident of dangerous driving which took place in Reading.
Just after 3pm on Saturday, August 19, a rider on a white moped failed to stop for police while travelling down Cranbury Road after being flagged for having no insurance.
While attempting to escape, the moped rider drove dangerously, including driving over the speed limit, failing to give way through junctions, and swerving around moving vehicles.
After he stopped in Norcot Road, officers chased the offender through Romany Lane.
An 18-year-old man from Reading has been arrested on suspicion of driving dangerously, driving while unfit due to drugs, failing to stop for police, driving without a license, and possession of cannabis.
He has been released on bail until Monday, November 20.
Investigating officer PC Matthew Fairman, based at Reading police station, said: “I am appealing for any witnesses of this incident to please come forward.
“Not only did the rider fail to stop for us, they then drove extremely dangerously in an attempt to get away and they’re very lucky that no one was injured.
