The official launch of the Station Hill development in Reading is coming in a few weeks.
The major development just south of the station saw Friars Walk and the Garrard Street car park demolished to make way for hundreds of apartments and thousands of square metres of office and retail space.
In three weeks, the area will have a launch party called ‘Party on the Hill’.
The Station Hill website states: “Join us for an unforgettable day as we officially launch Station Hill — Reading’s vibrant new destination.
Expect a buzzing atmosphere filled with: live performances from local talent, street food from around the world, creative stalls, a makers’ market and fun activities for all ages.
“Whether you’re here to explore, eat, dance, or discover, there’s something for everyone.
“Come and celebrate the start of something special in the heart of Reading. Everyone is welcome.”
The event will take place from 12pm to 8pm on Saturday, June 21.
The Station Hill site owners required planning permission from Reading Borough Council for the party, as conditions control vehicular access to the Ebb & Flow parts of the development, which are made up of apartments.
These conditions have been suspended for the party to allow food trucks and other vehicles associated with the event to access the area.
You can view the approved applications by typing references PL/25/0617 and PL/25/0618 into the council’s planning portal.
