BLUE COLLAR Corner has laid out its events for October and welcomes a new regular to the fold in Reading’s town centre.

The street food and drinks venue has announced that The Anonymous Coffee Co will be joining the ranks of vendors at its site on Hosier Street, bringing a dedicated hot drinks stall on Saturdays and Sundays.

The new Anonymous Coffee Shed will serve tea and hot chocolate alongside coffee between 11am-4pm on weekend days.

Blue Collar Corner is also hosting a range of events throughout October, including showing live sports fixtures, regular DJs, and a Hallowe’en party.

Blue Collar’s October offerings kick off with a rare home-town set from Xander on Saturday, October 7.

DJ Xander has toured Japan, Canada, and the US following his relocation from Lower Earley to Paris eight years ago.

His set begins at midday and concludes at 4.30pm, followed by a screening of England’s last group game of the Rugby World Cup, against Samoa.

Reading’s Indie Market returns on Sunday, October 8, with stalls offering art, crafts, and hand-made produce between 11am and 4pm.

The venue will see live music and regular favourites at the Block Party of Friday, October 13, as hip hop collective OSP is joined by soul and funk purveyor DJ Format and resident DJs Rum n Donuts.

DJs Oppidan and Kaisui are headlining for Reading Electronic Music Society the following Friday, October 20, and will be joined by REMS DJs.

Nineties Night takes place on Saturday, October 21, with The Word and Tigers On Vaseline alongside DJs Elle Cee and Kingpinn.

October’s events conclude with a Hallowe’en Party on Saturday, October 28, with regulars Rum n Donuts, as well as a celebration of 40 years of The Smiths’ This Charming Man, with Madchester and DJ Geordie Vision.

The Rugby World Cup is also showing on Saturday, October 28.

Blue Collar Corner also holds weekly events such as Thirsty Thursdays with DJ Rich Sloman and The Sunday Social.

Blue Collar’s Glen Dinning said: “We’ve had another amazing summer, and last year’s winterfication of Blue Collar Corner with heaters and covering over every table was a big success.

“The Anonymous Coffee van is always a big hit at our events in Forbury Gardens and on Broad Street so we’re really excited to be adding their hot drinks to our menu on weekend mornings and afternoons.”
