The assault took place around 11.30pm on Saturday, July 3, in De Beauvoir Road, close to its junction with London Road.
Thames Valley Police said that the 29-year-old was approached by a man who wanted to know what the time was, before demanding the watch.
When the victim refused, the mugger produced the knife and demanded the victim’s watch and wallet, before heading off.
The thief is described as a white male, skinny and over 30.
He is approximately 5ft 10ins tall and was wearing dark coloured tracksuit bottoms at the time of the incident. He was also wearing a dark blue hoody with the hood up and a blue facemask, which obscured his face.

The wallet that was stolen is light grey and leather with ‘Diesel’ branded on the bottom of it.
