A museum which ‘makes our community thrive’ has been nominated for a Cultural Contribution award, sponsored by M&G Real Estate.

The Museum of Rural Life in Redlands Road, Reading displays a national collection of objects related to farming and the traditional processing of food.

A nominator said: “The museum engages with and supports people in the community from all areas of life, culture and ability.

“They have an ethos of engaging in a way that is beneficial for the whole community and they are committed to supporting local and national initiatives that make our community thrive.”

The Cultural Contribution award recognises projects, people and organisations that contribute to the Reading community.
