POLICE are appealing for witnesses after an Earley house was burgled on Wednesday night.

Between 11.30pm and 12.30am on Thursday, men broke into the home on Wokingham Road, armed with crowbars.

Offenders took mobile phones from the victims, a man and woman both in their sixties, before searching the property.

Jewellery with an estimated value of £30,000 was stolen.

The man’s arm was broken, and he sustained cuts to his head and lips. He was treated at Royal Berkshire Hospital for his injuries and has since been discharged.

Investigating officer, DS Mark Boyd, based at Loddon Valley police station, said that he is appealing for anyone who was in the area at the time of the incident and saw anything suspicious to come forward.

“We would also urge anyone with relevant CCTV or dash cam footage to get in touch,” he added.
